Although the majority threw a small bone to Democrats by holding the hearing, the event was also an indication of how strongly Republicans doubt climate science. Apparently, they don’t mind allowing multiple witnesses to lay out the supposed dangers of greenhouse gas emissions even as they try to legislate to stop controls on those emissions. If the skeptics had expected to suffer any political consequences from opposing the science, this strange hearing would never have happened.
Tule je zanimiv intervju z glavnim lobistom proti temu zakonu Fredom Palmerjem – znanem po izjavi "burn fossil fuels, and you put CO2 in the air, you are doing God's work". Zdaj je postal glavni zagovornik "čistega premoga", kar pomeni, da sicer priznava problem CO2, vendar nasprotuje vsaki regulativi in obdavčevanju premogovne industrije, ki da bo na prostem trgu in brez omejitev sama najhitreje našla način, kako kuriti premog brez emisij v ozračje …http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2011/mar/08/fred-palmer-peabody-coal-interview
